Special Olympics
So you might be thinking the Olympics have already finished which is true. But the seniors started a special Olympics. We got into groups of 5, 4 and maybe 3, but that's not the point. When we got in groups we had a country name like other groups, so now we were in countries and made our flag my group was Jamaica and a group of four the people in my group. There were 9 activities to go through they were called balloon badminton, human quilts, tin stacking, bean bag tossing, racing relays, heavy gumboot throwing, we stick together, human egg and costume relays. The first thing Jamaica did was balloon badminton and for last we did costume relays. It was fantastic we had a great time and also Jamaica got first place with a gold medal we were very surprised and super happy. But we did earn it, if you would like to see a couple pictures, look down below. See ya!
Awesome writing Valarie. Sounds like you really enjoyed the mornings activities. It was a great time to show teamwork & competitive spirit. Well done that you got a medal. Keep connecting & stay well.

Kia ora Valerie, what a fantastic day this was for Te Waka Ako - a great way to celebrate the values of the Olympics. You've written a cool recount of the day's events - could you perhaps explain the rules of one of your favourite activities from the day? Maybe people could then try the activities for themselves, in their bubbles, during this lockdown period. Keep up the positive attitude towards online learning.
ReplyDeleteMalo lelei Valerie-Ane! Congratulations on Jamaica for winning the gold medal. I'm sure there was good sportsmanship all-round. The activities you participated in sounds interesting and amusing. Did all the activities involve playing as a team? Looking forward to reading more of your blogs. Take care.
